Poetry in Times of Flux – Slovak and Czech Poetry 2000–2025

University of Konstanz (Slavic Literatures) invites you to a roundtable on 24 June 2025 at 5 pm in F-423 entitled Poetry in Times of Flux – Slovak and Czech Poetry 2000–2025.

How do the current Slovak and Czech poetic subcultures work? What personal but also social and political issues do contemporary poets address in their texts? How do local and global trends interact and mix in the poetry of the two countries? How do poets use (or refuse to use) multimedia and online channels to reach diverse audiences? We look forward to a discussion of these and many other questions with two renowned experts in the field of Slovak and Czech poetry, Mgr. Ivana Hostová, PhD. (Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava) and Mgr. Andrea Králíková, PhD. (Charles University Prague).
